NOISE Singapore

Have you ever heard about NOISE in Singapore?
Actually I just knew there such a thing in Singapore. So, NOISE is dedicated to young talented people aged below 35 years old in Singapore. It encouraged young people in Singapore to express, develop, and showcase their creativity.

Last month, I went to NOISE Singapore for the first time at ION Orchard with my friends. I will post some young talented creatures below.

This is the view of the exhibition from the upper floor

One of the talented person's creativity. It is like there is a person walk through the wall.

Visitors can write anything in the blackwall.

Some drawings of art and design.

This is one of my favourite creature in this exhibition. This person create lamps and inside each lamp there is different pattern. The 2 pictures below are the example of the pattern inside the lamp.
And the outside part of the lamp there is a quote

I was attracted by this person's creativity. His idea is out of the box, I was very impressed by idea of holding a car toy then took a picture as if that car toy was in the middle of the road. This masterpiece is very unique.

So, I thought that's all about my review of NOISE Singapore. I think this kind of event is very useful and interesting since they encourange young people to participate and pour their innovation. People can get a valuable experience by join this kind of event.

National Day of Singapore!

First of all, I want to say HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Singapore! Singapore's birthday is on the 9th of August. These pictures were taken at Marina Bay Sands.

So, on the 9th of August, my friends and I went to Marina Bay Sands to watch fireworks. It was very crowded around Marina, there were so many tourists there from all over the world. We must walked quite far to get a good angle to see the fireworks because most of the places were taken already. The fireworks started at about 8.15 pm and it was very very AMAZING! I can not describe by words.
Sorry if the pictures are not good enough because it was taken by phone camera. Enjoy!

The Building

Last week I talked about some paintings we saw at the National Museum. And for now let me show you some photos of the National Museum building.

National Museum is the nation's oldest museum. It established on 1877. It recently renovated to neo-classical building and now they present permanent exhibitions on Singapore culture and history. they also used art multimedia technology to bring history to life. The visitors can find some nation's treasures such as, the mystery-shrouded Singapore Stone and 14th century gold ornaments. We can also learn more about Singapore's  culture all over the time, Singapore's multi-racial, and Singapore's oral history.

National Museum of Singapore

I went to National Museum of Singapore last week with my friends. This is my first time visit the National Museum and I was amazed by all of the things inside. At that time, we visit two types of galleries, the first one is about the history of Singapore and the second one is about Princely Treasures from the House of Liechtenstein. In this post I will talk about some paintings in House of Liechtenstein gallery.

This painting is attributed to Lucas Van Valckenborch. The title of this painting is "The Parable of the Blind Leading the Blind". This painting gives visual expression to the verse from the Gospel of Matthew, "If the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch." At first, I don't understand about the meaning of this painting until my friend ask me to think deeper about the meaning of this painting. It reminds us to follow the right path or the right people. If you follow the wrong people, you will be fall to the wrong path.

This painting is a Portrait of Alexandra of Denmarks, Queen of Edward VII. The artist who paint this painting is unknown. Alexandra is the eldest daughter of the king of Denmarks. Alexandra did charity works and also known as a keen photographer. In this painting, she looks very glamorous in this gown. At that era, women's fashion is tend to be feminine.

This is the painting by Francesco Hayez. The title is Il Consiglio alpa Vendetta. Hayez is popular by his romantic historical paintings. This work was inspired by an unpublished novel by Andrea Maffei. The exquisite Venetian backdrop affect the theatrical setting. The painting is about the deceit of Maria's lover. And she was pushing away Rachel who tried to comfort her.

This painting was made by Alessandro Magnasco. The title is Bacchanak with Capriccio of Antique Ruins.

Both of the pictures above is a painting by Giovanni Paolo Pannini. It is called Capriccio with the Most Important Architectural Monuments and Sculpture of Ancient Rome.

One of the most meaningful painting in the gallery is a painting by Pieter Bruegel the Elder. The title is "The Triumph of the Death". This painting make me realize that we can not escape from death, even though you are an army, a royalty, a musician, in the end we all will leave this world.

Beautiful Night View

These pictures below are some of the popular buildings in Singapore. It was taken by my friend when I accompanied her, hunting some night photos. And as you can see the results are really amazing. The scenery was unforgettable and amusing.

The first and the second pictures are the Marina Bay Sands building. It is one of largest and one of the most popular building in Singapore. It was opened on 23 June 2010. There are many features completing Marina Bay Sands. Marina Bay Sands has a hotel, a luxury shopping mall, a casino, a museum, and also a theatre.

The picture above is the bridge near to Marina Bay Sands. It is called the Helix Bridge.

This picture is Singapore Flyer. It is 165 meters high and it is the tallest Ferris wheel in the world. We can see the city view from there, including Indonesian island of Batam and Bintan also Johor in Malaysia. The best time to hitch a ride is at dusk when the entire row of downtown skyscrapers is softly lit.

In the last picture is one of the most popular building in Singapore. It is Esplanade. Esplanade is a world-class performing spaces. It is a perfect choice for large and small-scale works in the performing arts and ideal venue for functions.

So, I think that's all about my blog this week. I hope it will beuseful for you all :)
